The ‘Aligned’ collection showcases hand cut strips of mother of pearl, bonded seamlessly together to create flat, striped sections. Each strip boasts its own unique colour and sparkle, creating a mesmerising interplay of light when the pieces unite. Described by Melanie as ‘truly three-dimensional pieces’, this collection places equal emphasis on all sides, the reverse of each piece is curved in juxtaposition to the flat front sections. In some of the pieces, pearls burst out from the seams of the gold, the pieces almost demand to be touched.
